JUST LET ME HAVE MY GEEK MOMENT HERE

1. First, I need to show off my gleaming, beautiful thread at DRAWME! I HAVE SUCH TALENTED, AMAZING FRIENDS and I'm enamoured with my many representations, and generally biting my fingers and making incoherent happy noises. THANK YOU, YOU GUYS. Wah-! ♥

2. Anniversary of the Stockholm Bloodbath. I've still got that 7+ page Stockholm Bloodbath fic; am still semi-consistently pulling it up and tinkering sadly with it, but I might have to let it go and start from scratch. TBC!

Until then, have two little loosely-related pieces, possibly incoherent introspection circa 1520. This is old as all hecka. My Denmark is a little too articulate, a little too blame-worthy which is simplifying the Stockholm Bloodbath too much, but there is something to be said for Denmark's somewhat consistent might and influence over Scandinavia up until the present day (in other words, while this excerpt was written a while back and is OOC to me now, I have a bone to pick with Himaruya's characterization of Denmark ۞n۞)

ROLEPLAYERS OF MY FRIENDLIST! I need your help to advertise a community called openalert, a neat community created by candlejack and meself which is basically going to be used as a directory for open roleplay posts. Let me give you a little info.

This is community inspired by memealert, but instead of memes, it's used to advertise open roleplay posts. Basically, sometimes you just feel like roleplaying something random without the work of working a roleplay or the hassle of a dressing room. ORPs (Open Roleplay Posts) are the best way to do so, but more often than not, you can only gather a handful of people to join in. This community was made to try to solve that problem by condensing all ORPs available in one. To accomplish this goal, we need your help: advertise openalert to your friends, roleplay partners and even to the roleplay game you're a member of, gathering everyone and achieving it's propose. This community is purely used to act as a directory, but if you wish to post here your themed ORPs instead, you're free to, as long as you follow the rules.

So, please, give a little hand? Advertise like, everywhere you can - roleplays, f-lists, friends - because the world of RPG needs more ORPs.

It was a pretty cool weekend. Went to a cosplay event and pulled a bunch of bullshit martial art poses, then later on I put on a dress, curled my hair and drank a tiny glass of alcohol in a 50's themed party with my friends. We just chilled all day today.

Now I am completely exhausted and will go to bed. GOOD NIGHT.

My ideal wardrobe: man in his 60s VS pubescent boy VS (Lawyer) Barbie. No wonder my mother always used to get that tragic look in her eyes through my teenage years, until she got used to it. XD

A while ago, fannish5 had the question "If you could erase five characters from any fandom, who would you choose?" and - no. You can't take out a character that way, generally it destroys entire themes of the series! Even if a character sucks, their relationships can be fun. I can't even get rid of someone like Honda in Yuugiou (not that I want to), who is so much a side character. There'd be no one to love Jounouchi in a manly-punching way! The sweetness of how gentle/respectful Jounouchi is with the Yuugis would be lost without the contrast! Who would stalk Bakura? And there can never be enough motorbike fanservice, damn it.

Anyway, it got me thinking about characters I dislike, and it looks like I tend to hate characters I shouldn't. E.g. ( KHR rambling )

There are characters I should hate, like Glo freaking Xinia and M.M. They are disgusting and yet I. I don't know. I'm fond of them in a poke-at way. Byakuran has moved up the list now that he's not dead boring. Still disgusted by Iris, though, like I'm supposed to be, and Ginger Bread is perhaps forever an asshole. (Even so, removing gross villains rather defeats the idea behind villainy in a story.)

Going to do a f-list cut rather soon so that my LJ isn't such a mess of filters &c. when it comes to more personal exposition and other silliness.

I know most people friended this LJ for fics, anyway, so it shouldn't be a major loss. :)

Turns out the new Tegan and Sara album, Sainthood, has been out in Australia since the 23rd. Australia got something BEFORE the rest of the world rather than months after? GASP. And I did not know this. Of course. Anyway, it's been playing on repeat for the last three days. It's so great. ;_; AND I just found out I have 4 credits on Audible... which means 4 free audiobooks! AND THEY HAVE AUGUSTEN BURROUGH'S NEW BOOK, You Better Not Cry!!! I'm going to get that AND Running with Scissors, because I have no idea where my hard copy of the book is. I think kai882 has it. Either way, I'd love to have it as an audiobook too. UGH NEVERMIND, I JUST CHECKED -- AUDIBLE AUSTRALIA DOESN'T HAVE RUNNING WITH SCISSORS. CRYING.

Anyone got recommendations for audiobooks again? I want to use up my two three remaining credits. :D

I was going to buy the special edition of Sainthood, but seeing as I'm not as into the band as I was just last year (and seeing how much shit I've bought recently, dear god), I'll save my money instead. I will actually buy the regular edition at some stage, though. I like supporting my favourite artists. Speaking of which, CD Japan informed me that my Sendai Kamotsu DVDs have been shipped! :D CAN'T WAAAAIT.

Oh and. I bought makeup. TIME TO EXPERIMENT AND FAIL.

As zombies go, I appear to be of the shambling, groaning kind. Haven't been sleeping properly for about two weeks, which made me even worse at being online and is also why I probably won't be for a while.
